Ceramic ginkgo leaves in dark brown, tied with a natural jute cord, mounted on reclaimed driftwood. Ginkgo biloba, also known as the maidenhair tree, dates back hundreds of millions of years. I've always felt that ancient presence whenever I see ginkgo trees or the delicate, distinctive shape of their leaves. MATERIALS & PROCESS Each element of this wall hanging starts out as a soft wad of clay, then each pad is cut by hand from a slab. After they are rounded and shaped in a free-form style, they are allowed to dry slowly. After drying, the ceramic pieces are bisque fired in a kiln, then glazed and fired again up to 2300 degrees F. They are then assembled with natural jute cord and the perfect piece of reclaimed driftwood selected from my favorite secret riverbed. Made of stoneware, this wall hanging is sturdy and weather-resistant. It can even be hung outside to compliment patio decor. __________________________________

MEASUREMENTS Approx. 18 inches wide, and 29 inches tall, this is a large-sized wall hanging in our collection. It is substantial enough as an accent piece above a couch or sofa, or can accompany others as a grouping on a gallery wall. This unique statement piece will adorn your space and bring the outside in. Although the artist intended this as a wall sculpture, the leaves have no underside which allows for mounting in a way that displays all sides. __________________________________
